Carrie Melton, age 82, of Forest City, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016.

Born March 3, 1934 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter to the late Claude Lee Melton and Macie Margaret Humphries Melton. She worked for Cone Mills-Cliffside Plant for many years and was a member of Chase Baptist Church. Carrie enjoyed caring for her family, going to the beach and sitting on her porch.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Billy and Frank Melton.

Survivors include her sister, Shirley Melton Hutchins; one nephew, Donnie Melton and niece, Donna Dobbins all of Forest City.

A graveside service was conducted at the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Scott Butler officiating.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
