Seniors at the Rutherford County Senior Center took part in several activities to celebrate National Watermelon Day on Aug. 3, including eating fresh watermelon and decorating cupcakes to look like watermelon slices. In addition to the culinary delights, seniors also learned various watermelon facts, such as that the flesh and rind of the watermelon are both edible.
