Charles Clifford "Lindbergh" Dalton, 94, of the Bills Creek Community, passed away May 19, 2026.

Born to the late Charles Sewell Dalton and Bertha Lee Flynn Dalton, Lindbergh was also preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Moffitt Dalton; his son, Travis Dalton; his brother, Paul Dalton; and his sister, Virginia Wilson.

Lindbergh was a pillar of the Bills Creek Community and the longtime owner of Charles C. Dalton and Sons Construction. He was a member of Bills Creek Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Patsy Wright Dalton; daughter, Joan Nelon (David); son, Eric Dalton; sister, Hazel Smith; grandchildren, Tiffany Nelon, Tara Nelon, Jessica Dalton, and Randy Dalton; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service was held May 21 at Bills Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ron Reep officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bills Creek Baptist Church, 1475 Bills Creek Rd., Lake Lure, NC 28746.
