Charles Kimball "Kim" Whisnant, age 61

Charles Kimball "Kim" Whisnant, age 61, of the Six Points Community, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Charles Warren "Buck" Whisnant and Wynelle Greene Whisnant. Kim was a graduate of Appalachian State University and a member of Florence Baptist Church, Forest City where he faithfully served in the praise band. He was an avid Carolina Panthers fan and golfer, loved the beach and swimming in the ocean at sunset and was the owner of Six Points Plumbing.

Survivors include his wife Teri Carlton Whisnant of the home; daughters, Lauren Whisnant, Rebecca Whisnant, Gayla Silvers, and Chelsea Rush; a son, Marty Silvers; sisters, Pam Whisnant Harrill and husband Tony, Tracy Whisnant Davis and husband Steve, and Dianne Whisnant Lurie and husband David; five grandchildren, and four nephews.

A memorial service was held in the Florence Baptist Church. Dr. Bobby Gantt officiated. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Florence Baptist Church Building Fund or Youth Program, 201 S. Broadway Street, Forest City, NC 28043.

The Padgett & King Mortuary & Crematory is serving the family.
