“Chimney Rock is an incredibly beautiful and convenient place to rock climb in the Southeast. You don’t get these views with drive-up access anywhere else in the region. Anyone six years or older can walk up with absolutely no experience, immediately get on the rock and start learning to climb, or to climb better. Chimney Rock is readily available to people of all levels of experience and fitness,” said Michael Rogers, Climbing Director at Fox Mountain Guides. Originally from the valley of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Michael grew up between the Teton Mountains and the hills of Georgia. He has summited peaks throughout Colorado and Wyoming as well as ascents throughout the Cascade Range. His passion is on the rock and sharing the joy of climbing with others, whether teaching how to tie-in with a rope for the first time or cresting the summit of a hard-earned peak. Michael has a B.S. in Outdoor Education and Leadership, is an AMGA certified Single Pitch Instructor, and a Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician. His encouraging and safety-first attitude, combined with his experienced climbing career, make him an ideal instructor for climbers of all abilities at Chimney Rock. Get More Than a “Taste” of Climbing.
