Pumpkin Patch at South Mountain Christian Camp
Pumpkins available during the month of October. There will be suggested prices but all pumpkins will be for sale by donations only with the proceeds going to the camp scholarship fund. Mon.-Fri., 9am-5pm, donation drop box will be available at all times.

Lake Lure Arts and Crafts Autumn Festival

Meet the Candidate Forum
The Rutherford County Branch of the NAACP, will host a Meet the Candidate Forum, Sat. Oct. 18, 4-6pm at Dunbar Community Center, Hardin Rd., Forest City, The public is invited.

Bat Cave Fire & Rescue 
Fall BBQ with a bluegrass band, Sat. Oct. 18, 5-7:30pm. Drive out to beauty of the leaf colors in Hickory Nut Gorge & enjoy the music. Proceeds will be used with matching grants, to make your support go a lot further, to buy much needed equipment. 
 
Coat Give Away
Sat. Oct. 18, 9am-12pm at Gilkey School Community Center. Coats given to all that is in need of one. Must be present to receive a coat.

Benefit Motorcycle Ride

Come Build A Team
The Community Empowerment Project & 104.1FM Community Radio Station will host a town hall meeting Sat. Oct. 25, 6pm. Meeting held in the Old Dunbar Community Center; 421 Hardin Rd, Forest City. The purpose of this meeting is to identify local resources and talents as well as to encourage aspiring deejays, producers and engineers, announcers, fundraisers, graphic artist and all persons interested in the success of the station to get involved. Cat Information / Food Drive
Sat. Oct. 18, 10am-12pm. There is a solution for feral cats besides destroying them. We will have info, a sign-up sheet and will be taking donations of cat food among other things. The donations will be split equally between two local animals groups, the Humane Society of RC 828-286-0222 and the Community Pet Center 828-287-7738. 
 
Clyde Saine Memorial Benefit Concert 
Sat. Oct 18, 6:30pm RS Central High School. Performing: Eubanks Family, David Coffin, David Roach, and Rutherford County Line. $10 suggested donation at the door and a love offering will be taken. All proceeds go to the family of the late Clyde Saine for medical expenses.

Advance Care Planning: Sessions consist of a private consult to understand the purpose and use of living wills and health care powers of attorney. Sessions are free. Call Joey Revis at Hospice of Rutherford County at 828-245-0095 to schedule an appt or for more info.
 
Domestic Violence Education/Support Group: Women who are victims of domestic abuse, or who never want to become victims, are invited to a free Domestic Violence Education/Support Group which meets 2 hours each week on Tuesdays. Free Spay and Neuter
PAWS of Rutherford County and The Community Partnership for Pets (CPPI) in Henderson County have joined forces to offer free spay and neuter to any Pit Bull dog or Pit Bull mix dog in Rutherford County. We will spay or neuter every Pit Bull or Pit Bull mix for free. That includes a rabies shot, too. There is no income limit. There is no time limit on this offer.
