D.A.R. winner of the  High School Essay  Contest 2021-2022

Regent, Betsy Woodridge of the Griffith Rutherford Chapter of the D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution) presented Kathryn Willet, senior high school student of Lake Lure Classical Academy, with four awards for her essay on "Mary Kathrine Goddard: The American Revolution's Hermes".

Kathryn competed and won in the local chapter contest, the District 1 contest (comprised of 10 counties), the State contest (comprised of 8 districts) and the Southeastern Division where she competed with 800 other high school students. Her win on this level made her eligible to go on to complete in the National contest.

The awards were presented to her on Thursday, May 26th at the awards ceremony at Lake Lure Classical Academy.
