David Lawrence Henderson, 59, of Rutherfordton, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012.

    A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Elbert Henderson and Gladys Metcalf Henderson. He was a graduate of RS Central High School and Appalachian State University.

    In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Lynn Hoffman Henderson of the home; daughter Lauren Elizabeth Henderson of Charlotte; son William David Henderson of the home; brothers Jim Henderson and wife Lisa of Rutherfordton, Alan Henderson and wife Sherry of Rutherfordton, John Henderson of Forest City; a number of nieces, one nephew, and two great nieces.

    Funeral services were held at Mount Vernon Baptist Church.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the RS Central Field House Fund/Friends of RS Baseball, 115 Southridge Drive, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 or Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 2676 Hudlow Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
