David Ponder, age 62, of Bostic, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017.
Born February 2, 1955 in Goldsboro, NC, he was a son to the late Ray Junior Ponder and Blanche Cureton Ponder. He worked for Cone Mills for twenty years and enjoyed cutting grass, doing yard work, watching John Wayne movies and the news. David attended Trinity Wesleyan Church of Forest City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Dawn Ponder and one brother, Robert Marshall Ponder, Sr.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of twenty-four years, Jenis Ponder; sister, Barbara Conner and husband, Gene of Lake Lure; brother, Billy Ray Ponder and wife, Chris of Rutherfordton; two daughters, Elizabeth Smith of Forest City and Robyn Ponder of Bostic; two sons, Ray Ponder of Ellenboro and Eric Ponder of Maryland; sister-in-law, Peggy Ponder of Bostic. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
