Dean McEntire, age 81 of Piney Knob Road passed away May 4, 2022.

Dean was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. A native of Rutherford County, he is the son of the late Elzie and Verdie Mae Arrowood McEntire. He retired as a supervisor with Trelleborg.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Ruth Blanton McEntire, his second wife, Hildred Daniels McEntire, brother, Kenneth Ray McEntire and sister, Florence McEntire Vickers and brother in law Charles McDaniel.

Left to cherish many fond memories of Dean are brothers, Ransome (Katherine), Mack (Linda), and Dennis McEntire (Christine) and sister Betty McEntire McDaniel, sister in law Sarah McEnire and brother in law Donald Vickers. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held May 7 at Crowe's Funeral Chapel with Rev. Casey Stockton officiating. Military Honors were provided by The Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard and Taps was performed by Dean's great nephew, Jonathan McEntire.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Piney Knob Baptist Church Brotherhood Fund, 1534 Piney Knob Rd, Rutherfordton NC 28139.
