Donald G. Jenkins, age 87, of Ellenboro, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019.

Donald was born May 8, 1931 in Rutherford County, to the late Thomas Graham Jenkins and Annie Louise Matheny. He was a graduate of Tri-High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a dairy farmer and cattle rancher most of his life. He co-owned and operated the Jenkins & Jenkins Dairy for many years. Donald was also a supervisor at the J.C. Cowan Mill. Donald loved his family dearly and enjoyed having conversations with others. He never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-seven years, Julia Ann Francis Jenkins.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Donette J. Ledford (Craig) of Six Points and Lee Ann Randall (Barry) of Memphis, TN; two sons, Robbie Jenkins (Penny) of Rutherfordton and Bobby Jenkins (Dawn) of Charlottesville, Virginia. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and a great-grandson.

The funeral service was conducted at Race Path Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
