Dorothy Haynes Dixon, 85, of Spindale, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017.

A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Nola Bridges Haynes. She was a seamstress.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of sixty five and one half years, Ralph Dixon veteran of the Korean War, retired, of the home; daughters, Linda Atchley and spouse Gene of Union Mills and Nancy Meaders and husband Jud of Canton, MS; sons, Leonard Dixon and spouse Carolyn of Gonzales, LA and John Dixon and spouse Tracy of Rutherfordton; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; brother, George Haynes of Forest City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, & brothers Buddy Haynes and Johnny Haynes.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517 or The American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979.

Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the family.
