Dorothy Tanner Freeman Smith, age 87 of Bostic passed away January 3, 2017.

Dorothy was born December 29, 1929 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Freeman and Nora Johnson Freeman. She worked for many years at Broyhill Furniture and later for Manuel Woodworkers and Weavers. She was also a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church and preceded in death by her husband, Grover Thompson Smith in 2009.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen Smith Murray and husband Don of Bostic, a sister, Ruby Freeman Blanton of Boiling Springs, NC, three nephews, Les Blanton of Woodstock, GA, Tim Blanton, Harvest, Alabama, Scott Blanton of Boiling Springs, NC.

Funeral services were held in the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church with Reverend Paul White, Jr. officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
