Douglas Farrell Laughlin, 86, passed away Wednesday, December 06, 2023.

He was born to the late J.T. Laughlin and Luesenior Champion Laughlin in Cleveland County. He is also predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Betty Canipe Laughlin; son, Mike Chapman; brother, Ronnie Laughlin.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Scott Chapman; former daughter-in-law, Debbie Chapman; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brothers, Terry Laughlin (Pam) and Freddie Laughlin; sisters, Martha Fortenberry, Brenda Garver, Teresa Hovis and Trina Whitaker (Gary).

He worked at Cleveland Mills for 42 years and Laughlin Furniture for 18 years. He served 20 years as a Lawndale Town Councilman.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 3pm December 15 at Hudson Memorial Baptist Church, 762 Warlick Rd., Lawndale, NC 28090.
