Dr. Robert F. Toney, age 91, of Bostic, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019.

He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Cicero and Dora Jones Toney. He was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church. He began his ministry in 1959 and pastored numerous churches during his sixty years of ministry with the help of his loving wife. He attended Gardner Webb College and graduated from Andersonville Baptist Seminary in Camile, GA. He also graduated from Fruitland Bible Institute and received his doctorate in 1995. Robert was a past master of Masonic Lodge #535 Hollis, and a charter member of Eastern Star #37 Hollis. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Briscoe Toney, six brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by: One Son: Wayne Toney and wife Laura. Three Daughters: Wanda Greene and husband Frank, Wavolyn Norville and husband Keith, Wannell Willard and husband Kim. Eight Grandchildren, Twenty-seven Great-Grandchildren, One Great-Great-Grandchild.

The funeral service was held at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church in Bostic. Burial took place at the resurrection ground of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mount Lebanon Baptist Church Building Fund; 801 Mount Lebanon Church Rd, Bostic, NC 28018.
