Earth Day at Mountains Branch Library

Mountains Branch Library held an Earth Day Program after school on April 22 with a children's "Lorax" program. In addition to reading the Dr. Suess classic, children discussed ways to celebrate Mother Earth at home by reducing waste, recycling trash and reusing items. Kids made their own Earth Day "dirt cup" snacks and then used the plastic pudding cups to plant their own sunflower seeds to take home and grow. A dogwood tree was also planted in the library garden.
