Elijah Martin Guffey, 84 of Spindale, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Hospice House. Services were held at Crowe’s Chapel with Military Honors.

Mr. Guffey was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Janie Guffey.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Zola Lister Guffey; two sons, Michael and Mitchell Guffey; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.

Crowe’s Mortuary of Rutherfordton, NC is serving the family.
