Elizabeth (Betty) Barbara Augustine Gibson of Albany, GA. Beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed on January 9th, 2012 at the age of 90 with family by her side.
Betty was born in Racine, Wisconsin to Leland Brown Augustine and Ella Marion Evans Augustine. She was the first of two children and is survived by her sister, Marion Augustine Schlueter Davis of Naperville, Illinois.
Betty is survived by her son and his life partner Stephen Gibson and Carlos Ferreria of Oakland, CA., her son and his wife Eric and Brenda Gibson of Rutherfordton, NC and her daughter and her husband Sarah and Jeffrey Davis of Lafayette, CO. She was a beloved grandmother, She is also survived by a number of nephews and nieces. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband, Gale Gibson, son Michael Lee Gibson and daughter, Barbara Gibson Taylor.
A memorial service to celebrate her life was held at First Christian Church, Albany, GA.
A private family graveside service will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery where she will be interred with her husband.
