Ernest “Bill” Hinson Williams, 80, of Chimney Rock, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012.  A native of Sampson County, NC, he was born on September 14, 1931, a son of the late Ernest W. Williams and Elizabeth Faircloth Williams. He was a retired postal worker and a United States Navy Veteran where he served in the Korean War. He was a member of Chimney Rock Baptist Church.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Beth” Lail Williams. He is survived by his two sons, Steve Williams and wife Debi of Charlotte and Doug Williams of East Bend; one sister, Alice Johnson of Greenville; two grandchildren, Trevor Williams and Dylan Williams; his special friend, Betty Brock of Autryville, NC;

    Funeral services were held at Chimney Rock Baptist Church.
