Evelyn Mitchell Conner, age 72,  of Union Mills, NC, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011. Services were held at Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Welcome Home Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Conner was preceded in death by her parents, Pinkney Thomas Mitchell and Beulah Phillips Mitchell; one son, Johnny Conner and five brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, J.B. Conner; three sons, Andy Conner and wife, Ann of Lake Lure, Todd Conner of Marion, NC, Eric Conner of Kodak, TN; three daughters, Bonnie Smith and husband, Darrell of Marion; Susie Crotts of Union Mills, Melissa Broadway and husband, Rick also of Marion; one brother, Leroy Mitchell of Marion; two sisters, Helen Camp of Gastonia and Kathy Ziros and husband, Jim of Lincolnton.  She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.

Harrelson Funeral Home, Caroleen, NC is serving the family.
