The Early Explorers Club recently learned more about the Solar System at its regular meeting. They learned how to identify different types of celestial bodies, the characteristics of all the planets in our solar system, and stars. Students also created constellation projectors and named their new constellations.
The Early Explorers Club, sponsored by Rutherford Outdoor Coalition, is an adventure filled outdoor education opportunity for children ages 5-12. The club is open to the public, join anytime. Programs are designed for kiddos that like to play in the dirt and hunt for creepy crawly critters! Programs feature hands-on activities, and include lessons that connect to state standards to support science topics that students are learning in the classroom.
What to look forward to in the club:
• Visiting parks and forests
• Studying plants and other wildlife
• Learning about saving the environment
• Meeting various animals and insects
• Finding lifelong friends
• Health benefits that result from time spent outdoors
The next Early Explorers Day will be Wednesday, March 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Spindale House.
