Fern Hamrick Conner, age 78

Fern Hamrick Conner, age 78, of Spindale, NC left this world to be with the Lord and her beloved husband Max on Friday June 22, 2012. 

Fern was born March 23, 1934 to the late Mack (Carl) Hamrick and Marcelle Ball Hamrick of Spindale.
She worked at Stonecutter Mill as a cloth grader until her health declined. She did what God created her for, having the caring and patience that comes with an amazing wife and loving mother. She dearly loved her husband and four children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed large family vacations, sightseeing, and camping.
 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Max Conner of 61 plus years, 2 brothers Benny (Peck) Hamrick of Oakland Community and Steve Hamrick of Spindale. She is survived by 3 sisters, Irene Yessler Lipscomb of Oak Grove Living Center, Betty Hamrick Brooks of Spindale, Nancy Hamrick Houser and husband Carl of Union Mills, one brother Danny Hamrick and wife Vivian of Bostic, 3 sons, Billy Max Conner and wife Dianne of Rutherfordton, David Douglas Conner and wife Gay of Rutherfordton, Mack Darren Conner and wife Nancy of Central, SC, one daughter Deborah Mills and husband Tommy of Seneca, SC. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. 

Funeral service was held at Crowes Chapel with Rev. Danny Hamrick and Rev. Charlie Brooks officiating. Interment followed at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Forest City, NC. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Gilkey Baptist Church, 130 Gilkey School Road, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
