Four Habitat homes under construction; ReStores need volunteers

Construction crew on a building site in Spindale recently.

One Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity home that has been under construction in Spindale for the Chad Davis family over the past year is about to be occupied by the family while other homes are under construction.

There are three others under construction for Habitat families and a fourth that has just had the floor trusses installed, all in Spindale on Pennsylvania Avenue and adjoining streets.

Habitat is also accepting applications for a Habitat home.

Applications can be picked up at the Habitat ReStore at 686 West Main Street, Forest City or at the office located at 269 West Main Street in Forest City. The application can also be downloaded from the website at www.rutherfordhfh.org.

Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity is also looking for volunteers for the two ReStores. This is an opportunity to give back to the community as funds from the sales at the ReStores help fund the building of affordable homes for low-income families in Rutherford County.

Hours/days are flexible. Volunteers must have a friendly personality and enjoy working with the public. Some retail experience is a plus. Applications are available at 686 West Main Street, Forest City.
