Four students take top five places in statewide logo contest

Four Isothermal Community College students took the top five places in a statewide competition to design a new logo for the North Carolina Tutoring & Learning Association.

The students are Austin Jackson, Haley Bullard, Matt Greene and Megan Hall. They competed against students from 10 other institutions in North Carolina.

Jackson's clean design with a strong graphic suggestion of educational support took first place and is already posted on the organization's website at http://www.nctla.org.

The second place image was by Bullard. Greene's designs garnered third and fourth place. Hall created the fifth-place logo.

"We are so proud of the great work of our students and think it's just awesome that they took the top five spots in this logo contest," said Cathy Alexander, Isothermal's Advertising and Graphic Design instructor, who held a casual reception to honor her winning students earlier this month.

The NC Tutoring & Learning Association was established in 2005 and has been providing opportunities for college and university educators to connect and learn ever since. Its specialty is in the area tutoring and learning assistance.
