Frances Jeanette Melton, age 73 of Ellenboro passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016.

Frances was born October 14, 1942 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Willard and Selma Jones Melton. She was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church and retired from Burlington Industries at the J. C. Cowan Plant in Forest City. Her brother, Stanley Melton preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kenneth Melton, two daughters, Sharon Hodge and husband Tommy of Ellenboro, Skeet Hopper and husband Marty of Ellenboro, a sister, Joy Justice and husband Max of Rutherfordton, a brother, Reid Melton and Barbara of Forest City, a special nephew, Terry Melton and wife Denise of Ellenboro, four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

The funeral service was held at Corinth Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Connor and Reverend Ad Hopper officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
