Franklin Jerome "Jerry" Ruff, age 84

Franklin Jerome "Jerry" Ruff, age 84 of Rutherfordton, died January 2, 2022.

Jerry as he was known, was born on October 7, 1937, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Rev. Wade Franklin Ruff and Carrie Peeler Ruff.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Callahan Ruff who died in 2020.

Jerry was a member of Second Baptist Church, Rutherfordton and he served in the US Navy. Jerry was an educator having taught in the Rutherford County Schools. He taught at Cool Springs Middle, R-S Middle and Ruth Elementary.

Survivors include a son, Jeromy Ruff of Rutherfordton, a brother, Phil Ruff of Rutherfordton, sisters, Brenda Terry and husband Jake, and Jennifer Richard all of Rutherfordton, one grandson, and a number of nieces and nephews.

No formal services will be held at this time.
