Fred Coleman Hughes, 81

Fred Coleman Hughes, 81, of  Boiling Springs, passed away on August 17, 2012. A native of Rutherford County, he was born on April 11, 1931, a son of the late Rev. Archie and Essie Mae Murray Hughes. He retired as a supervisor from Duke Energy. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and the Cliffside Masonic Lodge, # 460. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Lee; one brother, Hal Hughes; one sister, Jeanette Jordan. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Owens Hughes; two daughters, Karen Willard and husband Terry of Forest City and Debbie Wood and husband Bryan of Clermont, FL; one brother, Henry Hughes of Tarboro, NC; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Eric Davis officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, 198 Pleasant Ridge Church Road, Shelby, NC 28152.
