Fred L. Turner, age 75, of Rutherfordton, passed away October 30, 2021.

Fred was born January 24, 1946 in Rockford, Illinois to the late Fredrick Lee Turner, Sr. and Elizabeth Helen Vernick Turner. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served honorably in the US Marine Corps. Fred was a truck driver for 50 years having worked for J&J Cartage and most recently for Quality Drive Away. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spindale.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mischele Patrick and brother, Harry Turner.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 20 years, Judy Turner; daughter, Elizabeth Elefante of Dixon, IL; sons, Fred Turner (Charisma) and Jack Turner (Jennifer) all of Dixon, IL; sisters, Marilyn Rohm of Spindale and Pat Wagner (Dennis) of Palm Beach, FL; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held November 4, 2021 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Vance Touchton officiating. Military honors were provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
