Joanne Waller & Kirk Earhart cut the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce ribbon at the grand opening of their Funki Fungi and Encore! Consignment store at 480 S Main St. in Rutherfordton. Also in attendance were Chamber Executive Board members Donna McC
   Joanne Waller & Kirk Earhart started Funki Fungi in Nov.  2008, selling spices and herbs on the Internet. In Nov. 2009 they set up an area in Encore! Consignments & Collectibles to sell their spices, herbs, custom blends and rubs, dried mushrooms, teas and kitchen gadgets.

   Recently, they have taken ownership of the entire store housing Encore! Consignments & Collectibles.

   To celebrate, the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce sponsored a ribbon cutting during their grand opening celebration at their location at 480 S. Main St. (US 221, next to Joe’s CITGO) in Rutherfordton

   Their inventory contains everything you could want for your cooking needs from Allspice to Turmeric. Currently, they carry 69 types of spices & herbs, 23 rubs and blends, 3 types of dip mixes, 12 types of flavored teas and much more - all well below retail prices. They also sell bulk wholesale to restaurants.

   Consignment items range from furniture to collectible glassware, local arts and crafts, and there is even a large section of military Surplus clothing!  

   Rick Austin, Executive Director of the Rutherford County Chamber said, “There is an amazing assortment of antiques, military surplus, and kitchen gadgets and spices here!  I could shop here for hours!”
