Garland Cox, age 63, of Lawndale, passed away December 24, 2021.

Garland was born July 12, 1958 in Rutherford County to the late John Wesley Cox and Dollie Watts Cox. He owned and operated Cox Tree Service for over 20 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Bettye, Evon and Jean Cox.

Those left to cherish his memory include sons, Wesley Cox (Megan) of Lawndale and Will Cox (Christina) of Shelby; sisters, Kathy Payne (Robin) of Forest City, Brenda Ledbetter (Scott) of Forest City and Shirley Cox of Morganton and four grandchildren.

A memorial service was held December 28, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dr. Chris Emory officiating.

Memorial donations requested to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
