Garth Tim Melton, Jr. age 43 of Shelby, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016.

He was born March 21, 1973 in Rutherford County and was a member of the Wesleyan church.

Survivors include his mother, Sandi Davis of Forest City, father, Kim Melton of Union Mills, maternal grandmother, Helen Davis of Forest City, and uncles, Chris Davis and Keith Melton.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Padgett and King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
