Grady Cannon, age 89

Grady Cannon, age 89, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022.

Grady was born September 23, 1932 in Rutherford County to the late Russell Cannon and Essie Burgess Cannon. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. Grady worked at J.C. Cowan. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Cannon and second wife, Bonnie Beheler Cannon; a sister, Mavis Jones and brother, Don Cannon.

Those left to cherish his memory include daughter, Debra C. Downey (Wayne) of Rutherfordton; son, Ronnie Lee Cannon (Donna) of Kings Mountain and sister, Nadine Scruggs of the Chase Community, two grandchildren, one great granddaughter.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, June 14, at Harrelson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Henson officiating. Military honors were accorded by Rutherford County Honor Guard.
