Howard Louie Patterson, age 88, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026.

Howard was born March 10, 1938 in Rutherford County to the late Ernest Hugh Patterson and Frances Fowler Patterson.

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by a son, Joey Lee Patterson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 70 years, Hazel Couch Patterson; son, Ricky Patterson (Linda); five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A memorial service was held August 13 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Trent Jones.
