Hugh Edward Street, 72

Hugh Edward Street, 72, of Bostic, NC, died Thursday, July 28, 2022.

A native of Rutherford county, he was the son of the late Hicks Edward Street and Mozelle Lancaster Street. Hugh retired after thirty-five years of service as Service Manager for Cowan Tire & Battery and later worked for Sparkie's Cadillac Oldsmobile and Discount Tire. Hugh was a former member of Cherry Mountain Fire Department having served as Chief; a Board member for the Carolina Clinchfield Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society, and a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, Bostic.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Kenneth Piercy.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Charlotte Melton Street of the home; sister, Sandra Piercy of Belmont, sister-in-law, Shelba Sinclair of Bostic; nephews and a niece, great nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held August 1, in the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church with Rev. Paul White, Jr. officiating.
