James Lee "Jim" Daniel, 82, of Mooresboro, died Saturday, September 24, 2022.

A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late John Paul "Pete" Daniel and Belle Miller Daniel and widower of the late Patricia Sepaugh Daniel.

Jim served his country for 21 years in the US Air Force and retired as a Tech Sergeant. He was later the owner of B&D Tire Service and Gulf Station in Forest City, and also worked for Farmers Hardware and Forest City Ace Hardware. Jim was a member of Florence Baptist Church, and currently a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Pat Daniel and wife Darlene of Sunbright, TN; daughter, Mellissa Hoover and husband Alan of Henrietta; brother, Steve Daniel and wife Peti of Montana; Brothers-in-law, Rev. Michael Sepaugh of Earl, and David Lowery of VA; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one will be arriving soon. There are also a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held September 29 at Florence Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Mills and Rev. Michael Sepaugh officiating. Military honors were accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
