James MC Crawford, 83, of Rutherfordton, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Harrison Crawford and Effie Lou Hayes Crawford. He was a retired iron worker. James was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Josephine "Jo" Alley and Betty Lou Brons; brother, Ralph Crawford, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Fred, Worth, John, Harold, Clyde and Calvin; and sisters Martha Dunn, Hazel Guffey, Lela Morrison, Myra Rabb, Annie Mae Early and Pauline Crawford.

A memorial service was held at Crowe's Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Brown officiating.

Crowes Mortuary is assisting the family.
