Janet Bostic Kesterson, 89, of Rutherfordton, died December 3, 2021.

Born in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Henry William Mathis and Myrtle Hopper Mathis. Janet was the widow of Samuel Louis Bostic and also widow of her second husband, Ervin "Doc" Kesterson. She was a graduate of Harris High School, worked for many years as a seamstress for Doncaster Tanner Company, and was a member of Adaville Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by a great grandson Asher Lee Splawn and sister, Sue Mathis Wall.

Survivors include her sons, Steve Bostic (Debbie) of Bostic, and Scott Bostic (Sherrie) of Ellenboro; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a great grandchild on he way.

The funeral was held December 7, 2021 in the Padgett & King Chapel with Dr. Jeff Pate and Rev. Ad Hopper officiating.
