Java For Justice Held

Cindy Benitez smiles for the camera as Rev. Travis Smith, executive director of Blue Ridge Hope fills out a donation form for Pisgah Legal Services during Friday's Java For Justice at Small Town Coffee Roasters in Rutherford. Next to Smith is Katherine Freeman, a family law and domestic violence lawyer with Pisgah. The fundraiser involved a number of WNC coffee shops to support the nonprofit which helps low-income folks with civil legal matters like avoiding homelessness and child abuse. Blue Ridge Hope also provides counseling and other services to low-income people. Benitez is a paralegal with Pisgah.
