Jean White Baynard, age 88



Jean White Baynard, age 88 of Forest City passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015. 

She was born September 28, 1926 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Memory and Mabel Blake White.  Jean was a graduate of Harris High School and a faithful member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church where she was a member of the church choir, a member of the W.M.U. and a former Sunday School Teacher.  She was also a lifelong member of the Ladies' Auxiliary at S.D. O. Fire Department.  Jean enjoyed music and gardening and she retired from Tanner Companies.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Junior Baynard and a son, Marshall Baynard.

Survivors include two sons, David Baynard and wife Vanessa, Terry Baynard and wife Debbie all of Rutherfordton, a daughter, Shirley Baynard Alley and husband Dean of Forest City, daughter in law, Linda Baynard of Rutherfordton, two brothers, George White and Ted White both of Forest City.  There are also eleven grandchildren, Debbie Radford, Adam Baynard, Nicole Burnette, Brian Baynard, Jody Alley, Shawn Baynard, Christy Baynard, Karen Russell, and Ben Russell, Heather Ervin and Junior Pritchard; eight great-grandchildren, Marina Radford, Alexis Baynard, Caleb Lail, Jessica Alley, Avery Baynard, Corbin Baynard and Keyton Baynard.

Funeral services were held in the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Ron Wilkins and Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating.  Interment  followed in the church cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, Post Office Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
