Jeannelou S. Hodgens, of, Cliffside, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Born on October 01, 1936, she was 77 years old.

A native of Ashtabula, Ohio, she was the daughter of Lewis and Genevieve Siewiorek. She was survived by her husband of 50 years, Reverend Robert H. Hodgens of Cliffside; a daughter, Heather L. Hodgens of Elgin, S.C., a sister, Sharon S. Johnson of Columbia, S.C. and numerous friends and relatives.

She was a graduate of the University of Dayton, Moody Bible Institute and Webster University. She was a former high school music teacher in Whiteville, N.C., was a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) And was an accounting instructor for twenty-two years at Florence-Darlington Technical College in Florence, S.C. After retiring in 1997, she taught college accounting for several more years in Newberry, S.C. at a branch campus of Greenwood Technical College. Mrs. Hodgens was a member of the United Methodist Church, and attended as long as she was able. She attended both Cliffside United Methodist Church and Avondale United Methodist Church, where her husband serves as the pastor.

A Celebration of Mrs. Hodgen’s Life was held at Cliffside United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joey Cantrell and Rev. Carl M. Ramsey, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in Cliffside Cemetery. 

McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service is serving the Hodgens family.
