Jerome “Mossie” Holler, age 85, of Union Mills passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012. 

Jerome was born May 1, 1927 to Orestus Jerome and Mary Mansfield Forney Holler. He attended Lees McRae College and NC State University. He served in the US Army, was a former county commissioner and a member and elder of Union Mills Presbyterian Church. 

Jerome dedicated his life to serving his community through the Union Mills Community Club, Union Mills Presbyterian Church and the Senior Citizens. He was a dairy farmer and owner of Bordens and Sealtest milk distributorships.

He is survived by three daughters, Ann Smawley and husband Doug of Rutherfordton, Darnell Scafe and husband Greg of Signal Mountain, TN, Beverly McCurry and husband Mark of Forest City; son Bob Holler and wife Angie of Rutherfordton; seven grandchildren, Ryan Scafe and wife Lindsey, Austin Scafe, Emily Sain and husband John, Sanna Smawley, Elizabeth Smawley, and Natalie Brown, Brittany Maxwell and husband Jordan; four great grandchildren, Olivia Brown, Knox Scafe, Josie Maxwell and Brenden Maxwell; two sisters Nell Givens of Rock Hill, SC and Mary Ann Lee of Matthews, NC. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beth Cooksey Holler, grandson, Bradley Holler, brothers, Albert Jerome Holler and Dan F. Holler, sisters Elizabeth Orr, Nancy Holler, and Margaret Wood.

  Funeral services were held at Union Mills Presbyterian Church. 

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Union Mills Presbyterian Church, 2378 Centennial Road, Union Mills, NC 28167.

Crowe’s Mortuary is serving the family.
