Jerry Donald Padgett, age 85

Jerry Donald Padgett, age 85, of Shelby, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023.

Jerry was born April 16, 1938 in Rutherford County to the late Frank Palmer Padgett and Virginia Lowery Padgett. He was a graduate of Tri-High School. Jerry worked at Liberty Life Insurance for over 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Padgett; brother, Charles Padgett; an infant brother, James Willard Padgett and brother-in-law, Maurice Huskey.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Brenda Casey Padgett; daughter, Karen Bell (Gary) of Boiling Springs; one grandson, sisters, Ellen Huskey of Forest City, Trudi Moore (Bill) of Ellenboro and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held July 28 at Oak Grove United Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Ernie Cole officiating.
