PrintJerry Wayne Dunaway, 47, of Shelby, NC, died Saturday, September 23, 2023.
Born in Rutherford County, he is the son of Sheila Adkins Hall of Rutherfordton, and the late Jerry "Dink" Dunaway.
He had served as general manager of various restaurants during his culinary career.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sarah Cole Dunaway; sister, Laura Dunaway of Bostic; nephew, Clayton Burnette and fiancé Kaylee; step-mother, Elizabeth Dunaway of Rutherfordton,; and his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Claudia Cole of Rutherfordton.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Curt Hall.
A memorial service was held September 29 at Shiloh Baptist Church, Rutherfordton.
In addition to flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150.
