Jerry Winburn Bridges, age 83 of Forest City passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016.

Jerry was born November 6, 1932 in Cleveland County and was a son of the late Esley and Sadie Neal Bridges. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and on various committees. His brother, Michael Bridges preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Peggy Epley Bridges, a son, Scott Bridges of Forest City, his sisters, Alice Kerr of Charlotte, and Betty Bridges of Mooresboro, NC, half-brother, Jimmy Neal of Shelby as well as sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Scott Jackson of Ellenboro.

The funeral service was held in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Ron Wilkins officiating. Interment followed in the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, 221 Sulphur Springs Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
