Jessie Leonard Laughter, 95, of Union Mills, passed away January 17, 2012.

    A native of McDowell County, he was the son of the late F.R. and Pearl Searcy Laughter.

    He is survived by two daughters, Shirley Arrowood and husband Gaines of Rutherfordton, Dorothy Wright and husband Wilbur of Union Mills; son, Ralph Laughter and wife Mildred of Marion; brother Junior Laughter of Union Mills; sister Pauline Morgan of Marion; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mafo Arrowood Laughter.

    Funeral services were held  at Nealsville Church of God.
