Jewarl Dean Willis Gibbs, 82, of Rutherfordton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 12, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late Carl Alexander Willis and Mattie Lee Griffin Willis. Jewarl was married to the love of her life, the late Errol Stanley Gibbs, for 62 years.

A member of Gilkey United Methodist Church, Jewarl enjoyed worshiping alongside her church family. She and Errol especially loved attending events at the Shingle Hollow Fire Department.

She is survived by her daughters, Candy Gibbs (Dan Michael) and Katharine Blanton (Derek); her grandchildren, Jeffrey Donald Black, Sabrina Anne Black, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Blanton, and Keith Richard Michael; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, with 2 more great-great-grandchildren expected soon.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ponice Greene, Margaret Ritch, George Willis, M.C. Willis, Harvey Willis, and Junior Willis.

A funeral was held June 14 at Gilkey United Methodist Church with Rev. MacKenzie Gary and Rev. David Blanton officiating.
