Jimmy "J.R." Ray Spurlock, Sr., age 72, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018.

J.R. was born August 2, 1946 in Logan, WV to the late Oscar Spurlock and Bessie Holstein Spurlock. He worked in construction for many years and owned and operated J & J White Stallion Salvage in Alexander Mills for several years. J.R. enjoyed fishing and four wheeling.

Those left to cherish his memory include three sons, Ricky Atkins of Lincoln County, WV, Jimmy Spurlock, Jr. of Forest City and Johnathan Spurlock and wife, April of Ellenboro; one daughter, Susie Swink of Rutherfordton and a sister, Faye Atkins of Jeffrey, WV.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

A private gathering to honor J.R.'s life will be held by the family.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
