John Albert Edwards, 84

John Albert Edwards, 84, of Ellenboro, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015. 

A native of Cleveland County, he was born on October 30, 1930, a son of the late Daniel Logan Edwards and Daisy Wilson Edwards. He was retired from the Textile Industry and was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church of Shelby. He was a Charter Member of Ellenboro Fire Department, the Rutherford County Rescue and the NC Crime Control.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jones Edwards; two daughters, Diane Bridges and Kathy Lynn Smith; two grandchildren, Kimberly Mode and Kenneth Ray Edwards, Jr.; 3 sisters; he is survived by his sons, John Albert Edwards, Jr., and wife Linda of Ellenboro and Kenneth Ray Edwards and wife Brenda of Ellenboro; one godchild, Karen Keeter of Ellenboro; one brother, Joe Edwards and wife Barbara of Shelby; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Sepaugh officiating.
