John Edmond Hoyle, age 72
Staff John Edmond Hoyle, age 72, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015. A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late George Hezekiah Hoyle and Etta Cogdell Hoyle. He was a member of Cherry Mountain Freewill Baptist Church and a retired weaver, having worked most of his years for Stonecutter Mills and Spindale Mills. John was also US Army National Guard veteran. He also enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Survivors include his wife Shirley Walker Hoyle, of the home; two sons, Gregory Hoyle and wife Debra of Rutherfordton, NC, and Jeff Hoyle of Forest City, NC; a brother, William Hoyle and wife Brenda of Bostic, NC; and sisters, Georgia Mae Bridges and husband Claude of Ellenboro, Lorene Williams and husband Clyde of Cherryville, and Helen Elenburg and Ellen Hoyle, both of Bostic, and a step-granddaughter, Ashley Cole. A memorial service was held in the Fork Creek Baptist Church, Union Mills, with Rev. Billy Cogdel officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The Padgett & King Mortuary is in charge of cremation arrangements.
