John Thomas "JT" Elliott, 65, of Rutherfordton, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Dee Olen and Flora Wilson Elliott. JT was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and a logger.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Joyce Hensley Elliott of the home, sons J.D. and Sharon and Josh and Amanda, all of Rutherfordton; brother Bill and Rachel Elliott of Rutherfordton; sister June Elliott of Rutherfordton; and brother in law Johnny and Tanya Hensley of Rockledge, FL.

Funeral services were held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. William Swink and Ed Foshie officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
